One issue that was on trial during this whole episode was one that is deeply in rooted in the American's core vales and that is the community. As American's call it "Neighborhood Watch" If the verdict was different this would have had a massive impact on the deeply rooted core value of the American community, that being the neighborhood watch.

The community watch has been installed into each American since the ride of Paul Revere at the beginning stages of their 1776 revolution.

With a different verdict I'm sure the American's "Neighborhood Watch" would have become the final victim.
